Why slabs fail here
Most cracked and heaved slabs come down to water and soil. Expansive clay under the slab swells when it gets wet, poor drainage keeps it wet, and a thin or poorly compacted base gives it nothing to resist with. We grade for drainage, compact the base, use air-entrained concrete suited to freeze-thaw exposure, and cut control joints where the slab wants to crack.
Driveway and sidewalk permits
Work that touches the public sidewalk, curb, or street approach usually needs a right-of-way permit from the city or town. We handle that along with any building permit the project requires.

Common questions
When can I drive on a new driveway?
Concrete gains strength over weeks. As a rule, stay off it with vehicles for about a week, and keep heavy trucks off for a month.
Can you pour concrete in winter?
Yes, with precautions. Cold-weather placement uses heated materials, accelerators where appropriate, and insulated blankets to protect the slab while it cures.
Will my new concrete crack?
All concrete cracks as it cures and moves. The job of control joints, reinforcement, and base preparation is to keep cracks small and where they are meant to be.
